In advance of the Community Connections Conference taking place on 29 January 2025, NICVA and Business in the Community NI are delighted to offer a series of pre and post-conference workshops, funded by Halifax Foundation for NI.

The workshop series aimed at both community, voluntary groups, charities and businesses will  provide advice and guidance on creating partnerships with purpose, help prepare attendees for the upcoming Conference and ensure they get the most from the event.

- Workshop 1 | Introduction to Corporate Community Partnerships

12 November 2024 | 10:00 am - 2:00 pm | A&O Shearman\, 68 Donegall Quay, Belfast BT1 3NL

This workshop is for community and voluntary organisations that want more information on starting to work with corporate partners, and will explore the ways corporate partners can help, the benefits for both sectors and how to communicate your organisation’s objectives and social impact to potential partners.

If your community, voluntary group or charity would like to learn more about corporate partnerships, don’t miss this introductory workshop that will include:

  • What is a corporate partnership?
  • Why do businesses get involved?
  • The benefits for community and voluntary organisations
  • Communicating your organisation’s aims and objectives
  • Working on your ‘elevator pitch’
  • Case study: A&O Shearman
  • Additional support

- Workshop 2 | Developing a Successful Corporate Community

5 December 2024 | 10:00 am - 2:00 pm | Location TBC

This workshop will bring together VCSE organisations and businesses to come together and discuss how they can work together and align their visions and missions. The aim of this event is to help prepare attendees for the upcoming Community Connections Conference to get the most from the day itself.

If you’re VCSE organisation or business is in the early stages of considering or working in partnership, don’t miss this workshop that aims to give you advice and guidance on elements of and developing a successful corporate community partnership.

This workshop will include:

  • Top tips on working together
  • Shared values
  • Case studies and best practice
  • Making the most of networking opportunities
