Chief Executive of NICVA Seamus McAleavey said:
“NICVA established a clear set of Values for this organisation back in the early 1980s. The organisation was clear it wanted to tackle discrimination on the grounds of religion, political persuasion, race, ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation.
Those values are still at our core and NICVA remains committed to equality, justice and promoting diversity and opposes discrimination of any sort.
Today we are delighted to support Belfast Pride and its ‘RightsNow’ theme. LGBT+ people are entitled as of right to be treated equally to others in society. Those rights will be fully achieved, it’s only really a matter of when?
It would be better to have those RightsNow."
NICVA wishes the Belfast Pride Festival well in all its events and on Pride Day this Saturday at the landmark parade.
