For over 80 years, NICVA has been championing the voluntary and community sector across Northern Ireland. We’ve seen the sector grow, evolve, and respond to changing times – and as the sector has transformed, so too has NICVA.
After 16 years, our existing brand no longer fully reflected who we are or the dynamism of the organisation today. Over the past six months, we’ve embarked on a thorough rebrand, reviewing everything from our visual identity and colour palette to our values, messaging, and tone of voice. The result is a brand that is modern, confident, and most importantly, people-focused.
Why now?
No brand can remain static for 16 years without becoming disconnected from the organisation it represents. NICVA has evolved in how we support our members, connect with funders and policy makers, and champion the sector. Our new brand ensures that the look, feel, and tone of NICVA fully aligns with the organisation we are today – and the difference we want to make.
Our new look and feel
At the heart of our rebrand is people – our dedicated team, our incredible members, and the communities they serve. Our refreshed tone of voice is approachable, friendly, and celebrates impact as much as it shares information. Our new, vibrant colour palette reflects the energy of our organisation, while our signature NICVA ‘N’ icon brings a personal, handwritten feel, symbolising movement, fluidity, and the dynamic nature of our work.
A unified brand
NICVA has several sub-brands, including CommunityNI, GrantTracker, and Media Connect, each with its own distinct identity. Our rebrand will bring these under the NICVA umbrella, making it easier for people to understand the full range of our services and the impact we enable.
Over the coming months, our new identity will be rolled out across all channels, culminating in a single, streamlined website that combines our four current sites into one. Wherever you engage with NICVA – online or in person – we want you to experience the same consistent, confident, and caring organisation, here to support the sector and champion the difference you make in communities across Northern Ireland.
Looking ahead
This rebrand is not just about a new logo or colour palette – it is a tool to communicate our strategy, our values, and our vision. It allows us to tell the stories of our members, reflect the vibrancy of the voluntary sector, and ensure our collective voice is strong and visible. As with any good brand evolution, we’ll roll out changes gradually over the next few months, ensuring every interaction reflects the confident, approachable, and dynamic NICVA we are today.
At the end of the day, brand is about more than just appearance – it’s about impact. Our success will be measured by how this refreshed identity helps us continue championing the voluntary sector and supporting everyone working to create a fair and equal society in Northern Ireland.
