After a brief pause in giving, The Honourable The Irish Society have announced they are to reopen with a new mission focused around three programmes: Growing Together supports community-based early years provision, Living Rivers, Living Communities supports environmental improvement and stewardship, and Living Heritage, Shared Futures supports participatory cultural and heritage activity.

For over 400 years, The Honourable The Irish Society has worked alongside communities in the North West and North Coast. Today, that work continues through a clear, forward-looking mission: to support lasting, meaningful change where it matters most.

Their grants have resulted in real impact for thousands of people by helping organisations and communities to deliver projects that strengthen local life, support opportunity and contribute to a more connected and prosperous society.

They recognise that they work alongside communities, organisations and partners across the North West and North Coast of Northern Ireland to support long-term, sustainable change. And as such, they are a trusted, neutral convenor who can help build partnerships, support shared ambition and contribute to long-term progress — not just individual projects.

Their new mission focuses giving through three programmes aligned to their long-term priorities:

They aim to support organisations and groups working to improve life, particularly within the communities they serve in the North West and North Coast. They are looking for projects that:

  • respond to real community need
  • demonstrate clear purpose and potential impact
  • bring people together or strengthen communities
  • align with the focus of our programmes
