Are you a social entrepreneur based in Northern Ireland? Are you looking to scale-up your work? Do you focus on financial inclusion? UnLtd are keen to hear from young people (aged 16-30) wanting to make their communities fairer places to live.

Applications are now open for UnLtd's Funding Future's Programme.

Funded by the Co-op FoundationPhoenix Group and the Millennium Awards Trust, and delivered by UnLtd, the Funding Futures Programme will harness the power of youth to find solutions for those who have been sidelined by the financial system.

The Funding Futures Programme will support young social entrepreneurs (aged 16-30) to create opportunities for people to learn, work and improve their standard of living

They are particularly interested in young social entrepreneurs based in Northern Ireland, those who are looking to scale up their work, and social ventures focusing on financial inclusion.

What is financial inclusion?

‘Financial Inclusion’ means that everybody, no matter their background, should be able to access, afford, and use things like bank accounts, credit/loans, savings and investment, insurance and pensions. It's also about breaking down barriers that people face to participating in the world of work,  business and finance. This might include:

  • Developing resources and services to improve financial education
  • Programmes that support people to improve their financial literacy, money debt management, or the affordability of goods and services
  • Helping people experiencing financial hardship including those from marginalised communities to access good jobs and meaningful employment.

What's on offer?

UnLtd combine funding and support to get started or to grow with grants of up to £18,000. This can be used to cover the costs of your venture and/or living costs.

Additionally, as an Award Winner on the Funding Futures Programme, you will be able to access tailored support including:

  • Financial literacy resources: You'll receive support to help strengthen your financial literacy skills and help improve the financial resilience of your social venture.
  • Peer-to-Peer Learning: Regular opportunities to connect with fellow social entrepreneurs working to reduce financial inequalities to share the journey and learn from their experiences.
  • Access to a Support Manager, pro-bono consultancy, workshops to upskill with your peers, and expert advice and guidance.

The Programme is open until March 2026.

Please note, their application portal will be closed for upgrading until the 28th April 2025.  Applications can be submitted via the portal after this date.
