This session provides a basic grounding in key financial areas, as well as analysing financial performance to help managers meet these requirements more effectively.
It's suitable for managers who have financial responsibilities and need to understand the content of financial statements and reports used in business and learn to interpret this information and use it to manage day-to-day business activity.
This session will cover financial matters which the board should be considering including:
- Understanding reserves
- Budget setting and reporting on variances
- reviewing and interpreting management accounts
- reporting on grants and contracts
- financial procedures policy
- annual audit / independent examination
- reporting to regulators and funders

- Trustees of groups such as Treasurer, Chair of Finance sub-committee and/or other board members interested in improving governance
