The Lurig Drama Group

Lurig Drama provides regular opportunity for the community to experience drama performances in a variety of genre with the stimulation associated with such events. Benefit flows from the provision of guided experience in a variety of theatrical areas of expertise and the increase in participant’s skills by providing training and direction. Our aims allow for participation as performers, assisting in a technical capacity and supporting roles. This in turn means increased skills opportunities have been made available to the community and the various groups within the area. The provision of accessible facilities, events and activities contained within have a positive impact on the mental health and well being of those in need and enable social interaction. The direct benefits can be identified through participation in events, box office receipts and public opinion: also volunteering of time, skills and resources, feedback received and regular internal evaluation. The community sector is improved in both personal and community capacity, community spirit and community cohesion and integration. There is no harm arising from any of the purposes The beneficiaries are the general public in the Glens area and any other areas where we perform.
