Digital Assist Text Help

Business in the Community, in partnership with Go ON NI and NI Direct, is offering free digital help for anyone who needs it. If you have a tablet, laptop or phone and need help to address a specific problem, our digital volunteers can help. Simply text the word DIGITALHELP (one word) to 67300* with a brief description of what you require help with and a volunteer will phone you within 48 hours with free, helpful advice on many topics. You can also get help with digital through the Skills Match platform. You can register here.

NI Direct and NI Libraries- GO ON NI

GO ON NI for information, e-learning and training guides on many topics covering how to stay safe online, shopping and staying in touch through Social Media. NI Direct also have produced training - Learn how to get online, keep in touch online using social media apps with free internet texting, phoning and video call services whether you're new to the internet or wish to improve your basic digital skills. They also have guidance on how to stay safe online. These step by step training guides make it easy for you.

National Cyber Security Centre

Cyber Aware is the UK government's advice on how to stay secure online during coronavirus. Over recent weeks there has been an increase in cyber threats and scams particularly around Covid-19. In response to this The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), working alongside the Home Office, the Cabinet Office and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS),  launched Cyber Aware, a refreshed campaign which aims to help individuals and organisations protect themselves online.

Their digital inclusion services help people use and access the internet and technology, they are delivered by organistions in communities and are part of the National Digital Inclusion Network. They also partner with experts to conduct research, to make evidence-based decisions.

Digital Learning hub with short webinars and advice. BT  and ITV are offering Tech Tips a series of videos and podcasts with some really practical advice on  topics such as: How to use What’s App, How to Avoid Phishing, working from home, staying happy and healthy.

Ability Net
