This presentation describes the exciting journey which NICVA has undertaken towards environmental sustainability and Net Zero carbon emissions between summer 2019 and Christmas 2022
Since 2019 NICVA has established its own staff environmental sustainability group (One Planet NICVA) to implement practical environmental improvements under the themes of Water, Waste, Wildlife, Energy, Travel and Food; commissioned a full scope 1 & 2 (ie direct) CO2 emissions baseline; agreed an organisational environmental policy and 2025 milestone target to reduce direct (Scope 1&2) CO2 emissions by 50%; and undertaken improvements in its building and operations which have already delivered 54% of its 2025 target.
