Guidance for charities experiencing financial difficulties

The Charity Commission has published guidance for charity trustees of smaller charities experiencing financial difficulties due to COVID-19 emergency.  

The Commission recognises that some charities are experiencing serious financial challenges and has produced guidance to help the trustees take some practical steps to manage their charity.  The guidance covers 

  • Assessing your charity’s current financial situation
  • Identifying when your charity is at risk of running out of funds
  • Developing a recovery plan
  • Charity trustee liability
  • What to do if your charity cannot continue to operate because of the impact of COVID-19
