Voluntary and Community Sector Infrastructure Support Public Consultation launched

15 Nov 2023 Shauna O'Neill    Last updated: 19 Nov 2023

The Department for Communities is currently undertaking a review of its arrangements for supporting the Voluntary and Community Sector.

This includes agreeing with partners on the outcomes that the Department should prioritise in future years.  This review of sectoral needs will inform how DfC can better support the sector to deliver outcomes set out in any future Programme for Government.

Future plans

As part of this review, the Department engaged with a wide range of organisations in the sector, to draw together their collective experiences, understand key priorities and needs, listen to ideas and opinions, and add voice and input to help us shape future programmes for whom the refresh will deliver. They have also engaged with other departments, local government, independent funders and established a reference group comprising of a range of sectoral interests.

The Department is now keen to share what they have learned from the engagement sessions, and seek views on their proposed Infrastructure Support Framework through a public consultation. View the proposed framework and consultation documents.

Have your say

The Department welcome views and responses on the proposed framework through the consultation events being hosted both in person and online through November and December 2023, and are inviting you to sign up for one of the events below:

The events will take the form of roundtable discussions and are an opportunity to share thoughts, ideas or comments.

DfC also welcome views and responses on the proposed framework or via email at [email protected].
