Voluntary and community sector representatives are invited to register for the next meeting of the All-Party Group (APG) on the Voluntary and Community Sector, which will also incorporate the groups Annual General Meeting.
This meeting will provide an opportunity to engage directly with MLAs on key issues affecting the sector.
A key agenda item for this meeting will be a discussion on the impacts on sector organisations and the people they support, as a result of the significant funding cuts following the introduction of the Local Growth Fund on 1 April.
NICVA will share an overview of the key impact findings emerging from its recent Impact Survey across Local Growth Funded projects. There will also be an opportunity for MLAs to hear directly from some of the organisations affected about the impacts on services, staffing and those they support.
We will also discuss the current NIO public consultation on the Northern Ireland Local Growth Fund Investment Plan for 2026–2027.
The meeting will also incorporate the groups Annual General Meeting to agree appointment of MLA members and Office Bearers.
Light Refreshments will be available from 1pm, with the meeting starting promptly at 1.15pm.
We do hope organisations can attend and look forward to welcoming you and colleagues then.
About the All Party Group
All-Party Groups (APGs) provide a forum for MLAs and external organisations to meet and discuss shared interests. The APG on the Voluntary and Community Sector focuses on the wide range of issues facing the sector -from funding and sustainability to partnership working and recognition.
The Group’s purpose is to ensure that issues affecting voluntary and community organisations are recognised and discussed throughout the Northern Ireland Assembly, strengthening the relationship between government and the sector and supporting organisations to operate to their full potential.
