If you would like to improve how you involve volunteers and want advice on developing a volunteer policy as well as how to support and motivate volunteers, this course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to do that. You will be able to manage your volunteers more effectively. It has been designed specifically for our sector by Volunteer Now and NICVA and provides you with a nationally recognised ILM qualification. All sessions are delivered online via Zoom.

The induction session is an opportunity to meet the Tutor and get an overall insight to the content of the two day programme. Information about ILM will also be provided by NICVA during the session.
Managing Volunteer Agreements: During this short session we will learn and describe what the key differences are between an employee and a volunteer, and look in detail at good practice in the recruitment process for volunteers, including good practice when developing volunteer agreements.
Supervise and Support volunteers: This session will describe how you can provide effective support to volunteers, develop their skills, motivate them, celebrate achievements and communicate feedback.
Assignment support session (delivered by NICVA): This session will outline the assignments to achieve the ILM qualification and allow time for discussion and prepare you to complete the assignments.
Learners will be given a link to a padlet with materials and resources.
