Access Counselling NI

Access Counselling NI

Access Counselling was established in 2009 as an Association of Independent
Counselling practitioners, essentially to enable self-employed practitioners
to bid for contracts which would otherwise be unavailable to them as
individuals. Also to offer clients a single point of access to a counsellor,
and to a service which would assist them to choose the right service for
their particular circumstance. In 2012 we registered as a Community Interest
Company in order to further develop a free Counselling and Advice service for
carers, established in 2010. Our registered office is in Newtownards and we
have just opened our second branch in Bangor. Our members are a diverse group
of individuals with a range of specialisms and a shared vision that access to
counselling should be available to the whole community

Services

*COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY*
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that can help you
manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave. CBT has also
been shown to be an effective way of treating anxiety related symptoms, such
as panic attacks and OCD.
*SUPERVISION*
CLINICAL SUPERVISION - is a requirement for all Counsellors and Therapists in
this field.
REFLEXIVE SUPERVISION - is informed by learning theories and uses the
communication skills of the supervisor to facilitate a developmental approach
to improving practice. This is a cross professional supervisory process which
can enhance CPD.
*We offer both individual and group supervision
