Banbridge Twinning Association

Banbridge Twinning Association

Set up in 1992 as a twinning link between the town of Banbridge and a town called Ruelle-sur-Touvre in the Charente area of France was formed by Banbridge District Council to build links and relationships with peoples of other countries. Town Twinning was developed after WW2 to ensure greater understanding between differing nationalities and cultures. Over the past 24 years our group has developed adult exchange visits, youth exchanges visits, plus sporting and cultural links. Following the recent restructure of local councils responsibility for the administration, and funding of these activities has moved away from the local council to Banbridge Twinning Association as a community group open to all.
