Belfast Asian Women's Academy
BAWA is a women's grassroot organisation, formed in Januray 2019 as a women's centre of inspiration and empowerment. We are the first Asian women's organisation in Northern Ireland to provide 3 mainstream services for women: BAWA Social and Recreational Hub We expertly design innovative social and recreational programs to help women improve mental and physical health.We run well-being workshops and non-competitive sports for women. BAWA Support Services We advocate, support and assist women in dispute with employers, landlords, letting agencies and businesses. We assist in drafting letters, application and referral forms. We provide legal services referrals. We run consumer rights, housing rights and employee rights workshops. BAWA Community Services We contribute to the community we live in by undertaking charity work. We organise community cohesion and good relation events to build bridges between the different communities in Northern Ireland. We collaborate with local communities to embrace their culture and to share our culture and heritage. BAWA also undertakes self funded charity work to support the most vulnerable in this society.
