Bleary Farmers Hall Management Committee

Bleary Farmers’ Hall is utilised by a wide ranging number of different groups, clubs and societies. The overall building and its fabric is under the guidance of Bleary Farmers' Hall Management Committee, an indzependent body operating at a local level helping the Bleary Rural Community.

The aim of the committee is to provide a rural facility adequate for community needs and to encourage a flourishing and sustainable rural environment and we believe that the rural community plays a vital and significant role in this.

The committee oversee the general operation of the Bleary Farmers’ Hall and ensure that the 12 plus groups, clubs and societies which operate within the facility are guaranteed a building sufficient to their needs.

Services

Young Farmers' Club?

It is a body which includes not fewer than 10 young people between the ages of 12 and 25 years and which has been formed with the authority of The Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster, and registered and approved by the Executive Committee. A Y.F.C. is strictly non-political, non-sectarian and is open to anyone, no matter of his or her ethnic background, religion or profession. The only qualification for membership is an interest in rural life.

Newmills & District Gun Club

Newmills Gun Club meet for their AGM in the Farmers' Hall, Upper Ballydougan Road.

The shoot days are the last Saturday and the second Saturday of the month.  The Club ground is on the Ballymacanallen Road (first left on the Hunters Hill Road from Lurgan), and boasts a two trap High Tower, DTL range, a versatile Sporting Clay layout, new club house and soon a new skeet range.  On shoot days usual starting time is approx half one.

Ballydougan Patchwork and Craft Group

The Group meet in Bleary Farmers Hall, Upper Ballydougan Road at 10.00am every Wednesday morning for three sessions Autumn, Winter and Spring.

The Group started with twenty members and now has an average attendance each week of 35 ladies.

Ballydougan Indoor Bowling Club

The Club meet in the Bleary Farmers’ Hall, Upper Ballydougan Road on Wednesday nights at 8.00 pm from September until April. Ballydougan Club is in the West Down Zone.

Bleary & District Pipe Band

Bleary is a townland situated to the south west of the County Armagh market town of Lurgan.

Lurgan & District Horse & Cattle Show

 Lurgan Show is still going strong with over 650 various classes and is recognised as one of the foremost one-day events in the Craigavon Borough Council area and remains an excellent day out for all the family.
