Centre for Contemporary Art Derry-Londonderry

Centre for Contemporary Art Derry-Londonderry

The Centre for Contemporary Art (CCA) offers five programming streams: commissioning of new art works, solo and group-exhibitions, public programmes/outreach, artist residencies, and publishing activities. We give special consideration to artists and projects with a connection to Derry and the North West of Ireland.  CCA’s programmes aim give audiences access to the most relevant and engaging visual art practices of our times. We offer audiences a diverse range of activities that help to make art accessible, exciting, and educational for a wide cross-section of the population. Situated in an interface area within the city walls, our capacity building is focused on understanding the obstacles that inhibit people and organisations in our vicinity from fully participating in the cultural life of the city. CCA provides a space without political affiliation, allowing different communities to share their experiences and knowledge through our programmes.  Community outreach and professional training are at the heart of CCA activities. We introduce children and young people to new ideas and aim to foster their creativity through interaction with professional artists. In addition, we provide training for artists in the early stages of their careers, through workshops, talks, and seminars.
