Church Of Ireland Youth Department

Church Of Ireland Youth Department

Church of Ireland Youth Department acts as the Churches governing body for all matters relating to work with young people (aged 13 – 25 years) across the Church. As an all-Ireland youth organisation, CIYD relates not only to the Church of Ireland but Irish and Northern Irish government departments and agencies. We work in close collobration with a number of youth service providers and in particular we support the work of the Church’s Diocesan youth scene.

CIYD seeks to support, equip, and develop young people and their leaders across the Church of Ireland. We seek always to partner Christ in the work He is engaged with across our denomination and networks.

Services

To equip young people and those who work with them for the mission of Christ this vision will be practically implemented through work that falls within the following five missions areas:

  1. accompany diocese and parishes in developing ministry with young people
  2. resource youth ministry leadership development across the church
  3. challenge and comford young people primarily aged between 11-25 with the message and claims of Jesus Christ
  4. create opportunties for young people across the church to express their faith in everyday life
  5. promote the needs of young people in partnership with statutory and voluntary youth agencies
