Hope 4 ME & Fibro Northern Ireland

Hope 4 ME & Fibro Northern Ireland

Hope 4 ME & Fibro Northern Ireland is a patient support group set up to support, raise awareness and educate patients of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis and Fibromyalgia, their families and carers. We have 120 members and hold 12 monthly meetings with a guest speaker at each meeting covering a wide range of topics to help people with these conditions. We are also engaged through a steering group with Patient & Client Council, Dr. Pamela Bell Pain Alliance N.I and Dr. Joe McVeigh researcher Ulster University Jordanstown. This steering group was set up to address the lack of NHS services for ME/FMS patients in Northern Ireland. We regularly lobby local Government to highlight this issue and we are engaging with local commissioning groups and HSCB to establish adequate NHS services for this patient population. We have hosted many conferences with International specialist speakers, to highlight our awareness campaign.
