Ihsan Youth

Ihsan Youth is an organisation which is dedicated to supporting Muslim youth and their families throughout Northern Ireland. Through advancing Muslim values, education, community development, poverty alleviation and promotion of Islamic arts/heritage, religious/racial harmony and advocating for civil progress, with the aim of integrating, empowering and improving the conditions of the said community.

There will be a particular but not exclusive focus on empowering young people, through various means, such as interactive and engaging activities, with the goal of facilitating their own personal growth as Muslims and as active members of the wider community. We also aim to advocate for Muslim youth and family rights both domestically and internationally as well as for the facilitation and positive development of Muslim family life enshrined in international law. We aim to preserve Muslim values and facilitate/fund Islamic education and promote the peaceful advancement of the Islamic faith through spiritual, social, educational, recreational, psychological and physical services/projects. A fundamental aim of Ihsan Youth is to provide a positive example of Muslim youth which is compassionate, peaceful, civically minded, environmentally mindful, well informed spiritually and integrated to the wider community.

In serving the Muslim youth and their family, we also aim to advocate for citizenship rights and community development, which includes the preservation of culture, English speaking assistance and teaching, up-skilling, social integration and cross-community dialogue for people of all faiths to ensure that the Muslim community are full participants in public, social and economic life in Northern Ireland. This would also include defending Muslim youth and their families from Islamophobia, racism, bigotry and all forms of discrimination through advocacy, dialogue and when necessary, campaigning. We also aim in assisting the maintenance and formation of religious facilities and places of worship for Muslims which are for their spiritual, theological and/or social benefit.
