Liberty Consortium
Liberty Consortium
Liberty Consortium, was founded in 2002 and is a registered charity (HMRC XR82572) and Company Limited by Guarantee. Our ethos is to increase social inclusion at our award winning inclusive ‘Playtrail’ site, on the grounds of the largest special school in the North West, Ardnashee School and College.
The facility currently includes a number of inclusive play areas, a 200 seater amphitheatre space (incorporating an outdoor cinema), woodland 'fairy' walk and large community allotment scheme & training facility. This is all linked by an accessible path network and nestles within a beautiful setting, offering areas in which to sit, relax and learn.
Working with local schools, community groups and the wider community, we aim to:
- Promote inclusion; facilitate play, participation and increased physical activity
- Promote environmental and community awareness
- Provide Intergenerational programmes promoting ‘family’
- Address educational disengagement, social isolation and limited community interaction.
Liberty Consortium run a range of programmes ranging from play based projects, team-building, Forest Schools and other community based activities. We also offer an array of transition services for young people with learning disabilities going through the transition process, leaving school into adult life. These include the HOPE, SOLVE and BUD programmes, all of which seek to provide each young person with the skills needed to embrace the change.
