Lisburn Downtown Centre
The Centre’s activities provide opportunities for the whole community to participate at their own chosen level. The centre’s aims are to develop people’s social networks and helping them to deal with social, physical and mental health needs.
Services
Compassionate Friends
The Compassionate Friends group meets on the second Wednesday of each month from 8pm – 10pm. It provides support and friendship for parents and their families who are coming to terms with bereavement.
Contact Group
The Contact Group meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 10am – 2pm. It is a group meeting for carers of children with learning disabilities. It provides contact with other carers, special events, speakers and much more.
Cheer-You-Up Club
The CYU Club meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 2.00pm – 3.45pm and is for senior citizens.
Friday Club
The Friday Club provides a place for people with mental health difficulties to meet socially and develop social networks with others and feel valued in their communities.
Welcome Club
The Welcome Club is a drop-ingroup adults who have a mild learning disability, or who are socially isolated and keen to make new friends. This club offers a friendly environment to meet new people and runs every Monday morning from 10.30am – 12.30pm. Our aim is to provide a place for people with a mild learning disability to meet socially and develop social networks. We provide a social outlet for people with learning disabilities and to promote social interaction in a relaxed comfortable environment.
Drop-In Centre
The Drop-In sessions provide a friendly environment where people can feel free to drop in as they please and join in with the fun and company of others from their local community.
Our Drop-In Centre is open every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon from 2pm – 4pm. Everyone is welcome for a cuppa and a chat, offering support and guidance if required.
