<p>North Belfast Youth Choir brings together young people from across the religious, cultural and social divides in North Belfast, providing a regular collaborative setting for those who would not normally meet. Drawn from the range of post primary schools in North Belfast, NBYC removes the barriers to participation in music often experienced in an area of very significant social deprivation. The choir seeks to promote appreciation and acceptance of different cultural traditions which in turn, encourages mutual understanding and fosters long term friendships. Led by an experienced and highly regarded choral director, choir members receive high quality musical tuition and gain the opportunity to perform to a range of audiences, not only locally but in prestigious venues across the UK, Ireland and beyond. Through its ongoing activity, North Belfast Youth Choir seeks to improve the well being and life chances of young people by developing their musical performance and social skills, broadening their life experience and by raising their levels of confidence, self-esteem and aspiration.</p>
