North Coast World Earth

North Coast World Earth (NCWE) is passionate about protecting the environment for the benefit of all and future generations. We celebrate the importance of community-led climate action and we bring the public together to care, appreciate and respect our environment. We are tackling pollution, raising awareness about the issues affecting our environment, inspiring change and bringing many benefits to our communities.
NCWE works with schools to deliver benefits to the environment and its wildlife. We want the public to hear the “pupil’s voice” and we lead events and campaigns throughout the year raising awareness though litter picks, sand art and eco crafts.
We have recently deployed ArcGIS technology to help gather accurate data about the litter our members are collecting. Individuals, families, community groups, businesses and schools are all registered as members.
This leading digital solution drives engagement with communities, as groups have access to personalised online dashboards where they can track their progress, see their contribution, and celebrate their achievements. The dashboards are particularly valuable in schools and support education by giving pupils a better understanding of their own contribution to reducing pollution.
Our volunteers record information about litter hot spots, volumes of litter that could potentially be recycled, locations where bins are full or unusable, instances of fly tipping and the impact of litter pollution in Protected Areas.
