Rugby Cubz NI Community Interest Company

Rugby Cubz NI Community Interest Company

Rugby Cubz are a social enterprise CIC which offers tailored and structured rugby coaching programmes for children and young people, with a particular focus on those on the autistic spectrum and with additional needs. Our passion and ethos is INCLUSIVITY and EMPOWERMENT. At Rugby Cubz we strongly believe that rugby can be for ALL children, in a way that can enhance their lives and social skills, enabling them to be the best possible version of themselves.

Rugby is an ideal game for children on the autistic spectrum because of its singular adaptability to encompass the needs of any child regardless of shape, size or ability, the feedback it provides to participants and also because of the individual roles that can be assigned to any one as part of a team.

It teaches children on the autistic spectrum how to develop a number of life skills including how to socialise with others, how to be a part of a team, how to respect others and understand their role within any particular setting.  It provides them with self-esteem, empowerment and a sense of belonging and most importantly, playing games with others can be fun! Here at Cubz our coaching ethos is fully aligned with the IRFU Spirit of Rugby - Respect, Inclusivity, Integrity, Fun and Excellence.

The provision of this coaching through Rugby Cubz will drive our ethos and passion to become a leader in the provision of rugby and physical activity for children and young people with any additional needs, fitting in with the requirements of the children, their families, and the community.  Class times are flexible to cover needs and full participation, so during afternoons, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.  Rugby Cubz aims to be at the centre of healthy and inclusive leisure activities for Ulster!
