We have a centre where members can drop in at any time and avail of our servicves welfare rights counselling support group a befriending service training and education three groups mens womens and youth meet on a monthly basis with youth weekly we have outings and speakers in at these meetings and we fundraise on a regular basis.
SDAHW are a victim/survivor support group based in Rathfriland County Down who were established in 1999 to provide support and assistance to the innocent victims of Terrorism in the South Down area of Northern Ireland.
The group’s strategy is to provide a support centre and network for victims and their families providing self development through employment, education and training. The group strives to offer practical support in any way required to improve the quality of life of those who have suffered most through terrorist violence.
Services
The group provides support in a range of ways, including respite support, complimentary therapies, residential trips, coffee mornings and the group also run a ‘befriending scheme’ to help our more isolated rural members keep in touch with the group.
Activities/Services offered are varied and wide ranging with the emphasis on self help and mutual support, principally by and for immediate families of victims of terrorist violence.
