St Comgall's Youth Club Antrim

St. Comgall’s Youth Club is a fully constituted, voluntary Youth Club. It is an independent Youth Club with its own charitable status, it does however have very strong links with the Parish of Antrim, the EA and other outside agencies.

Operating for over 40 years, its purpose is to further the personal, social, educational and spiritual development of all children and young people without distinction, with the object of enriching their lives in a safe and appropriate environment and, to encourage children and young people to have active and responsible participation in their community and society.

On the St. Comgall's site, we have a state of the art building, fitted with the latest equipment and technology such as a pool table, XBox, Switch, Wii and access to the sports hall, we even have dance and drama classes for those interested in the creative arts. We strive to have the most up to date equipment to support our youth programmes. We have a fully operational kitchen to promote healthy eating.

The Youth Club provides a safe, comfortable place where young people can participate in a wide range of recreational activities. It also provides opportunities to meet people of a similar age in a drug and alcohol-free environment. Activities include youth drama performances, karaoke sessions, discos, quizzes, sporting activities and match parties, arts programmes, mentoring programmes, empowerment sessions and many, many more! The youth club runs three nights each week. Thursday – Saturday. We do see this expanding potentially due to the demand for such services.

A large number of activities is available to the members, including special interest sections in craftwork, drama and digital production. Discussion groups are also part of the programme. The provision includes a tuck shop and access to and a fully functioning hot kitchen.

Other activities available to members include outdoor pursuits, senior member training, social weekends, residential weekends, visits to other clubs and an opportunity to become involved in a range of projects which highlight the issues most important to young people today. Members are also encouraged to involve themselves as far as possible in the running of the club.
