Services

Supporting you in the neonatal unit
TinyLife’s team of family support officers are here to help you through this difficult time. Working across Northern Ireland, each of our family support officers make weekly visits to the neonatal unit to liaise with hospital staff and make themselves available to mums, dads and other family members.

Breast pump loan service
As a new mum, you want to give your little one the best start in life. Research has shown that breast milk can significantly help the development of babies in neonatal units and thereafter. If your baby is in special or intensive care and you want to provide your own breast milk, TinyLife can lend a hand through our Breast Pump Loan Service. Providing breast milk can help you to bond with your baby in these difficult early stages when you may be feeling detached and isolated.

Supporting you when your baby comes home
We are delighted to be able to offer home-based family support. If you feel that you would benefit from some extra help through our family support volunteers, our family support officers will try to match you and your family with a trained volunteer. While we do not always have volunteers immediately availble in your area we endeavour to match you with a suitable volunteer as soon as possible.

Parent Support Groups
We at TinyLife believe that support from other parents is vitally important. Why not come along to one of our regular parent support meetings designed to benefit both you and your baby? As well as offering you the chance to meet with others in your situation, our coffee mornings and groups also aim to provide you with useful information and advice to help you cope with your new arrival. There will also be opportunities to hear from expert speakers on topics of interest and concern.

Baby Massage Class
Baby massage has been a longstanding parenting tradition in many cultures, such as in India and Africa, and has been introduced to the western world during the last 30 years, gaining in popularity in the UK since the late 1990's.

Resources & Publications
As a parent of a premature, ill or disabled baby you no doubt have plenty of questions and are keen to get as much information as possible about your new baby and how to care for him/her. TinyLife may just have the answers and materials you are looking for. Why not drop in and make use of our comprehensive resource library? If this is not possible our family support team may be happy to bring the information to you.The library, located in our offices in Carryduff, is updated regularly and comprises a wide range of books, videos and information leaflets that you can consult or borrow, dealing with many of the relevant practical and emotional issues you are likely to be facing.
