This tutorial video will help you to understand how to prepare your annual accounts on the receipts and payments basis.

It is aimed at treasurers and trustees of small to medium sized voluntary led organisations and explains the following areas: 

  • Types of accounts and eligibility to prepare receipts and payments accounts
  • Receipts and payment accounts 
  • Restricted and unrestricted income
  • Preparing receipts and payment accounts, including notes to the accounts
  • Common issues with preparing annual accounts
  • Requirements for registered charities
  • External scrutiny
