NJC Pay - two year deal agreed for 2016 - 18

The National Joint Council for Local Government Services has confirmed the pay deal, setting new pay rates from 1 April 2016 and 1 April 2017.

NJC payscales are used widely in the voluntary and community sector, although they are local government scales negotiated by the employer and trade union sides of the National Joint Council for Local Government Services. NICVA is not involved in any way in these negotiations.

This is a two year pay agreement from 01 April 2016 to 31 March 2018 and the current NJC payscales are from SCP 6 to SCP 49. For points 17 and below there is a higher percentage increase, ensuring compliance with the National Living Wage, with a 1% increase on points 18 - 49. Whilst some local councils produce pay points and scales past point 49, these are not official NJC scales.
