We are moving into Phase Two of NICVA’s Engaging and Retaining Talent Programme, continuing our work to help voluntary and community organisations across Northern Ireland build stronger, more confident workforces. With continued support from the Halifax Foundation for Northern Ireland, this next phase keeps the practical focus that worked in Phase One while opening access to more organisations across the sector.

Why Phase Two Matters

The sector still faces the same core challenges: attracting talent, retaining staff, managing change, and supporting teams without dedicated HR capacity. Leaders continue to juggle day-to-day delivery with workforce responsibilities, and the demand for hands-on, realistic HR support has not eased.

Phase One gave organisations clear guidance, real training, and practical support they could put into use immediately.

What’s New in Phase Two

This phase builds on what worked and giving the sector a further opportunity to upskill their teams. The feedback from previous workshops was that that this was relevant, practical and much needed.  This phase of the programme offers:

  • Additional training dates based on strong demand
  • A dedicated online edition session for organisations that could not attend in person previously
  • Continued access to one-to-one clinics for tailored HR support
  • Updated materials only where learning from Phase One indicated improvements

Who Can Take Part

The programme remains open to voluntary and community organisations of all sizes across Northern Ireland. It is designed for groups building their first HR processes and for those strengthening existing ones.
